Dutch designer to help in the correction of defects in the CET building

Kas Oosterhuis, Dutch designer of the CET building complex can help in the correction of defects of the building, after winning the tender of public procurement – the deputy mayor for finance, Gábor Bagdy announced at the press conference in the CET building.

Gábor Bagdy said: the most important task is the completion of the project with the minimum of public funds, for instance elimination of actual technical deficiencies, correction of defects – especially the glass roof – endangering the use of the building, and elimination of risk to life and of accidents. The issue of the CET building could be solved from less than 10 billion instead of the previously estimated 31 billion according to the deputy mayor.

The deep-level garage has been recently opened and the bicycle path has already been taken into use by Budapest citizens. Current plans indicate that the building could be opened at the end of 2013, however a new public procurement tender must be launched for the implementation works after technical defects has been detected.
