An exhibition titled Bratislava in Art of the 19th and 20th centuries was opened in Budapest History Museum

A seasonal exhibition was opened in Budapest History Museum, in the Buda Castle, presenting the collections of the Bratislava City Museum, which has been collecting these pieces for years. The exhibition was opened by Deputy Mayor Miklós Csomós and Petra Nagyová Dzerengová, the Deputy Mayor of Bratislava.

The aim of the exhibition is to preserve the memory of the whole city, its parts, and historical monuments or hidden places, even those, which started to fall apart. The exhibited works revealed the change of the cityscape from the middle of 19th century, through the 1920’s till the 1960’s. They record the historical downtown, and even places not existing nowadays, which are inseparable from the cityscape of that times.

The exhibition was supported by the Slovak Institute in Budapest, and will be open till 6 October 2013, in the Castle Museum (1014 Budapest, Szent György tér 2., Building E). More information on the website: www.btm.hu
