Hungarikum street opens inside the Great Market Hall of Budapest

Excellent Hungarian food and other products are introduced at the Hungarikum street, which has been created at the basement level of the market hall at Vámház körút.

National and foreign visitors will directly get in touch with our national values, the traditional Hungarian products (so-called Hungarikums), as heard at the opening ceremony on Thursday, where Gábor Bagdy, Deputy Mayor for Finance and István Szakáli, Deputy State Secretary for Agricultural Development and Traditional Hungarian Products.

Paprika from Kalocsa and Szeged, Gyulai and Csabai Hungarian sausages, Herz and Pick salamis, wattle honey, lavender products from Tihany, the Tokaji Aszú wines, pate’ de foie gras, traditional soda-water, Hungarian embroidery from Kalocsa, the Rubik cube, Zsolnay porcelain, onion from Makó, Béres Drops, the palinka as well as the Unicum can be found in the spectacular exhibition cases placed on the basement.
