At the beginning of May Mayor István Tarlós and Melih Gökcek Mayor of Ankara have inaugurated the Ankara street in the District II of Budapest. A year ago, on 24 February 2015, in the presence of the Hungarian and Turkish prime ministers we have signed the sister agreement between Ankara and Budapest.

The relations between the two capital cities have gained great impetus with the agreement signed with the Mayor of Ankara, Melih Gökcek. Cooperation has started in the fields of city management, economy, culture, education, and tourism, and it is also important that a dialogue has been started between the metropolitan areas of the two regions. As part of the cooperation a photo exhibition has been opened, introducing theTurkish capital city through impressive pictures, said István Tarlós. The Mayor announced that during the joint discussion with the Prime Minister of Hungary, it has been confirmed that the Gül baba türbe, close to Ankara street, will be renewed till the end of 2017 as a priority investment.
